Liberty State Park is an extraordinary and unique public resource. With the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as a spectacular backdrop, it is also one of New Jersey's most dramatic parks.
Most of the garbage along the shoreline is plastics and styrofoam. This is actually some of the most harmful of the debris in terms of wildlife. Animals will eat the styrofoam and small plastics and get tangled in plastic bags and fishing line, kite string. Sea turtles will consume plastic bags and balloons, mistaking them for jellyfish.
Join us doing beach cleanup, helping leave a park that all of Jersey City can enjoy!
